Snow Flurries

Hi there!  We've had a beautiful fall here in Alberta, with weather peaking in the 70's, which is relatively unheard of for October.  But there's a chill in the air today.   Snow isn't in the forecast, but I know it's not too far away and while I don't like winter, I do like snowflakes, and that's what my card is all about today!

I did double duty with this one too!  I used our Playing in Paradise sketch and used our Featured Product Distress Inks for a really simple technique using Perfect Pearls...another jewel in the Ranger family of products.  Here's what I came up with.



Stamps:  Flurries (Technique Tuesday)
Paper:  Neenah white, Navy
Ink:  Pumice Stone Distress Ink

Accessories:  Dazzles Snowflake 3-D Stickers (HOTP), Perfect Pearls Metallics (Ranger), Detail Silver embossing powder (Stampendous),  Rhinestones (MAMBI), Circle/Scallop Circle & Labels 8 dies (Spellbinders), Swiss Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Chain ribbon (Webster's Pages), Scor Tape, Pop dots

Ok, the first thing I did was load all the little snowflake stamps from Technique Tuesday's Flurry set on to a 3" square acrylic block.  Then I stamped the snowflakes in Pumice Stone Distress Ink across the entire navy panel.  Since Distress Inks are really wet, they dry slower, so I grabbed my Perfect Pearls...in Pearl, and brushed it over all the snowflakes.  The wet image of the snowflakes grabs the Perfect Pearls and sets it permanently, for a beautiful pearly shine.  It's a little tough to catch shimmer and shine in a photograph, but here's a close up so you can see it a little better.



Hollywood Vogue Ribbon Pack
Webster's Pages

 I ran a length of the chain ribbon from Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue ribbon pack, down the right side of the card, adhering it with Scor Tape.  Honestly, this stuff is so cool...it looks like there are gems in it from one side and flat on the other.  I just had to have it, because the rest of the ribbon in the pack is just as fabulous! 

The white centre panel is cut with the Labels 8 Spellbinders die and then run through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots embossing folder.  It's popped up on 3-D foam dots and a length of sheer ribbon is tied around it.  I zapped it quickly with my heat tool to give it that scrunchy look.

Then I started adding the Dazzles 3-D snowflakes.  I just love these amazing little stickers.  They have adhesive in the centre portion and the little branches of the snowflakes can be folded in so they pop up!  I placed them around the white as per the sketch and added clear rhinestones to the centres.  They are quite amazing aren't they!!

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in Pumice Stone Distress ink and embossed it in Detail Silver embossing powder.  The image has that distressed look to it...which is fine with me, but I don't want you to think I didn't stamp it right LOL!
