Flowers and Wishes

Happy Wednesday everyone!  We're halfway through the week and I though I'd share a little card I made with my new goodies!

If you read my post on Friday, you should have known that the gorgeous pad of Fairy Floral Prima papers were going to end up coming home with me!  Well, here it is!


I thought Penny Black's set Flowers and Wishes would work beautiful with these papers and I think I was right.  I stamped the image in Memento's Tuxedo Black ink on Prism's Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock.  I think this is one of the nicest Copic papers.  Very smooth and minimal bleed.  The paper has a watercolor look to it, but I chose to colour with my Copic markers.  I kept the colours soft and the wash is multi-tonal yellow and pink.  It shows up a bit better in real life. 

***Oh, and here's a tip:  if you have Copic markers, buy your pearls and rhinestones in clear/white.  That way you can use your Copic marker to colour them any colour you need!  That's what I did here.  I used MAMBI's clear rhinestones and coloured them with my Y19 marker.  Perfect!!

The sentiment is from one of my favorite fall to sentiment sets by Inkadinkado called Greetings.  It's stamped in Tuxedo Black and cut with Spellbinders Labels 1 die.  The top border is punched with Martha Stewart's Double Loop around the page punch, and the ribbon is from my stash.  Finally I finished with a portion of a Prima rhinestone flourish.  I love using just portions of them on cards...it makes them go a long way!

So there you have it!  Cute and all so pink and pretty!  Now that I've made the first cut into this paper, I'll have no problem tackling the rest! Oh and don't forget if you click on each picture, you'll see a larger version!

New Product and an Introduction

Hi there! It's been a while now since the last post, and for that you have my apologies. There are a few changes going on behind the scenes at Scrapbooker's Paradise, and I'm one of them! I will be your host on our blog for the next little while, so let's start with a quick introduction.

I'm Laura Fredrickson, and I have been a stamper and a scrapbooker for the past 13 years. It's always easy to remember how long, since I started my first scrapbook shortly after my first daughter was born. Since that time, I discovered stamping and participated in many types of crafts while the entire paper crafting industry exploded around us. Paper crafting in some form or another has become my passion and my purpose. I have my own blog where I share some of my projects, and I'm sure you'll see a few of them right here as well!

I am so thrilled to be a part of Scrapbooker's Paradise's blogging efforts and we have all sorts of plans in the works. So while it may take some time to bring it all together, it is our goal for this blog be a forum to share inspiration, tutorials, news and up close looks at many of the products we carry. But most of all we look forward to opening the lines of communication with you! We want to know what you want in an on line store, and how we can make this blog work for you! So don't be shy...we're all ears!

We have new CHA product arriving daily and I wanted to gush over some of the goodies arriving in the store! We won't feature everything on the blog, so be sure to sign up for our newsletter (see the top left!) to be sure you're on top of it all! Today, though, I thought I'd feature some of my favorites!

Now when the box from Prima arrived, I have to tell you I just squealed with delight! Oh my gosh...they have 6x6 paper pads! This one is Fairy Floral, and there is another in store called Jack n' Jill designed for the little guys! As a card maker, I love 6x6...they are proportionately smaller in design so the patterns don't overwhelm your card. Aren't these colours to die for? Click on it, and you'll see it even better! Of course these are also available in 12x12...we try to make everyone happy!

Prima is known for their gorgeous pearl and crystal flourishes, and they just keep getting better! How about a little lace with that? Oh my gosh...these are stunning, and they come in several vintage colours that will make your projects totally amazing!

We have some of the new Tim Holtz dies by Sizzix too! This butterfly is so gorgeous and I think of all the bird cages I've seen, this is my favorite of all! Check out all the Sizzix dies and accessories we carry at Scrapbooker's Paradise!
