NEW from Creating Keepsakes

Scrapbooker's Paradise had two new inspiration books by Creating Keepsakes.

Major holidays and all the seasons are the focus of more than 450 paper crafted cards, gift bags, boxes, wall hangings, mini albums, journals, frames, party d'cor and more. This jumbo book from the editors of Paper Crafts magazine has hundreds of ideas for not only Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Halloween, but also Easter, Thanksgiving, and New Year celebrations. Seasonal themes (spring, summer, fall, and winter) are also covered, plus a special section with ideas to show patriotic pride. Holiday paper crafting has come a long way in the past decade, due in large part to the wide variety of themed products available and the development of clever new techniques and paper crafting tools.

An inspiring collection from the editors of Paper Crafts magazine -- with more than 500 unique greeting cards to make for a multitude of occasions. These keepsake-quality cards combine stamping with a wide range of techniques that enhance their artistic appeal. Step-by-step instructions explain how to color stamped images with markers, chalk, and watercolor. Some designs feature unique uses of buttons, bows, and all kinds of bling. There are cards with heat embossing, spotlight stamping, masking, and more. Themes include all-occasion, holidays, anniversary, baby, birthday, congratulations, encouragement, friendship, get well, graduation, love, sympathy, thank you, wedding, and more. Surprisingly, many cards require less than 5 steps to complete, so even the busiest persons can find time to create pleasing, personal cards.

Welcome Little One

Hello!

I hope you are enjoying your week so far!

I have a baby card to share with you today using Bo Bunnys Zoology Collection.

The chipboard elephant was quite thick so I attached the grey paper to some chipboard of equal thickness and used the Sizzix Mini Heart Mover and Shaper die in my Cuttlebug. I thought I would have some issues with the chipboard being thick but it cut it perfectly, as easy as paper! I LOVE these dies! And with the chipboard being thick, I would have had difficulties getting the brad through it so chopped off the back of the brad using wire cutters and attached it with a glue dot.

The journal type paper to the left of the card was cut out from the 12x12 Cutouts Paper and I used Spellbinders Labels 14 and Standard Circles to cut out the die cut in the middle.

Thanks for stopping by - have a wonderful day!

SUPPLIES
Bo Bunny - Zoology 12x12 Paper in Cutouts, Zoology, Word and Zebra. Zoology Brads, Jewels and Layered Chipboard
My Favorite Things - A La Mode Oh Baby Stamp
Tsukineko - Onyx Black Ink
Spellbinders - Nestablities Labels 14 and Standard Circles.
Bazzill - Kraft Cardstock
Misc - Ribbon and Mini Heart Punch

Tutorial Tuesday....How to line up your Stamps and Dies!!!

Hi all....well it's time for another tutorial....so here's a way to line up those stamps with those dies. For this tutorial I chose the My Favorite Things Die-namics Stamp and Die Set- Pretty Pocket, since these are the dies that don't have an opening for you to see through. But this will work with any die and stamp. So onto today's tutorial. I will show you the finished card at the end of the tutorial.

Supplies needed for tutorial:

Die Cutting Machine and Plates (Big Shot, Cuttlebug etc.)
Die, Stamp and Ink (your choice)
Cardstock and Scrap Cardstock
Repositionable/Removable Tape

Step 1: The first 3 steps are for those stamps that are hard to put on a clear block straight, so if you have one that's easy to put on your block, you can start with Step 4. So for this, you will actually put your stamp into the die and you do want the stamped image down, which means the flat side of the stamp is face up.

Step 2: Place your acrylic block on top and remove the block and stamp from the die.

Step 3: Now your stamp will line up properly with your die. Stamp your image.

Step 4: Image is now stamped.

Step 5: Now using the proper sandwich for your machine, cut out the die from your scrap piece of cardstock.

Step 6: Trim the scrap piece of cardstock and place it over your stamped image, which is on top of your cutting mat and your other plate. (* Note that you will be cutting this with the cut side down, that's why you're putting your cutting mat on the bottom.) This makes it easy to see where your die is going to cut. Once you are happy with where your cut lines are, use some removable tape and tape it down to your stamped image. If you don't have any removable tape, you can use regular tape, just make sure to remove some of the tackiness by adhering it to your clothing a couple of times, the tape will pick up some lint and make it less tacky.

Step 7: Now take the die and place it into the cut area, once you have it in the correct position the die shouldn't move. Place your plate on top and run through your machine.

Step 8: Now you have a perfectly cut stamped image! This is mine after I used my Distress Inks.
So scroll down and see what I made with my pocket.................

Products Used:
Cardstock:Black, White and Basic Grey Out of Print 6"x6" Paper Pad
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks- Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire, Ranger Archival Black Ink

So I used the embossing folder on the patterned paper and adhered it to the front of the card. Then I cut out the pocket from the front of the card and used my ink blending tool with all 3 Distress Inks over the embossing. I used my scor-tape on 3 sides of the pocket I made in the tutorial and lined it up on the inside of the card so when it's closed you will see the pocket. I also stamped friend and hello on the tabs I cut and then used my distress inks on them. These are placed one on the outside and one on the inside. Here's what the inside looks like:

You can use the pocket on the inside for a gift card. Then I made a rose from some of the patterned papers and the rose creations die and I also cut out some leaves. I used the glue gloss on the rose and the leaves, then I sprinkled some of the glitter on them. Then I adhered it to the front of the card. Here's a close-up of the rose, you can actually see the glitter :)..............

So that's it for my tutorial and how I made this card...............so until next time........................Have a great week!!!
