Fresh New Faces!

We have some new faces on our Design Team, and some farewells to say.

Introducing Pam Colosimo!  Pam will be taking on the role of DT Coordinator as well as joining the Senior Design Team. You can see more of Pam's work at her blog http://fairyrocks.blogspot.com/.   Here's a bit about Pam.

Hello my name is Pam...and I am a Scrapaholic........
I am a 'Mother' to 4 beautiful Daughters, 'Grand' Mother to 3 beautiful Granddaughters and 2 handsome Grandsons.
I love children and their unique perspective. I am a wife to my dear dashing husband Steve.  (He's always dashing off to work)  I love to garden and have created several large stone gardens and flower beds where previously only quack grass ruled.   By trade I am a memorial and garden stone carver.   I design as well as cut the designs into stone.  I have been scribbling books of thoughts and memories since I learned how to write.  I didn't know it was a form of scrap booking at the time, but I have always put little word stories with my photo's.  I have been scrapping about 10 years .

As much as I love to scrap book, my muse takes me to the altered side of this craft.  I started thinking about altered projects long ago. In those days,
it was painting murals and verses on the walls and floors of our house or sewing things.  I am wild about rocks and faerie folk. Lately (and this scares my family) nothing is off limits!!!
Old things and one of a kind items fascinate me, I worked as an antique piano refinisher for 10 years and some of the treasure I have found under the keys from a long forgotten time make their way into my projects.

On a side note: Scrapbookers are some of the nicest people I have met. I love to learn and teach something new or interesting. We all have a different idea of what scrapbooking is.  But we do share many common life experiences and a love for the art of paper crafting.  I do what I do for me, and to leave a small piece of who I was and how much I loved them for my children and grand children.
Meet Selena Maynes. Selena is joining the Senior Design Team and brings her amazing talent to us from Calgary!  Her blog, Essentially Selena, showcases her amazing creative talent!  Stop by and say hi!

My papercrafting experience started about 7 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child and it was suggested to me that I should make a scrapbook. Since then I have been hooked! To help support my addiction I have been working at scrapbookers Paradise south store for 4 years and have taught there for about 3 1/2 years. I enjoy all types of papercrafting!! I scrapbook, I make cards, 3D projects and more! I am a mother of 3 amazing children. Brayden who is 6 1/2, Ainsley who is 5 and Caelyn who is 20 months. Last but not leaste my fourth child my husband Paul!

The arrival of these talented ladies bids a farewell to two of our original designers.
Sara, our resident scrapbooker, leaves us as she prepares for the arrival of her new baby due in March.  Sara has delighted us with her fabulous talent in scrapbooking, and we'll surely miss her contributions.  And though we are saddened by her departure, new babies deserve and demand all of Mommy's time, and so we send Sara off with our best wishes and congratulations!
And alas, this is also my (Laura's) farewell.  I have made the decision to take some time off designing for a while to connect with my family.  I truly loved being a part of Scrapbooker's Paradise's Design Team, playing with all this fabulous product and working with such an amazingly talented team.  I hope that after I've found some balance I will return.  It's been a fun and inspiring journey and I look forward to seeing all the fabulous inspiration from the new faces on the team!
Wishing everyone all the best!!!

Christmas Gift Project - Sara

Hello everyone!

I can't believe it is almost December. Time sure has flown!! Today is another Showcase Monday and, as you've gathered, we've been working on Christmas gifts for our Showcase Mondays for the month of November.

For my project, I altered a stacking wooden box. I added papers by Simple Stories from their 25 Days of Christmas line. I inked the edges of the papers with my Ranger Distress Ink stamp pads in coordinating colours. I used acrylic craft paint to paint the lids -It took a lot of mixing of colours to get the shades of red, green and yellow that I wanted, but it was fun. I adorned the box with American Crafts ribbon and embellishments by Prima and Petaloo. I think it'll be a fun, decorative box to display during the Christmas season. I plan on lining the inside with wax paper and filling each layer with Christmas candies.

I hope you liked my project and that it perhaps gave you some inspiration for your own Christmas crafts!

Prima Flowers - Splendor Moss
Petaloo - Berry Spray -no longer available, but other similar products exist, check out our online catalogue

Noel with a Little Bling!!!

Hi all, I hope everyone is enjoying this warm weather we've been having here.......I would love it if it would stay this way for the whole winter :)

So onto today's post.....I thought I would try the new Want 2 Scrap Nestabling and the Nestaboards, the awesome thing with these is they match your spellbinders dies, so the possibilities are endless. Also, I actually didn't use any stamps to make this card, so I hope you all enjoy what I did with them!!!

Products Used
Cardstock: Red, Green and Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium 12x12- Tis the Season

So, I cut my card with the grand labels die, I love how you can make shaped cards with the grand dies, just gives you so many possibilities and I think out of all the label dies this is one of my favorites!!! I also cut all my layers with the die. I adhered the Graphic 45 paper to the nestaboard and edged it with the new Tim Holtz Festive Berries Ink. I added the scor-tape to my red cst and then cut the Noel out, then I applied the glitter. I used the Glue Gloss on the edge of the card and applied glitter. The rest is just putting it together........well I hope you all have a great week!!!.......until next time......

Celebrate the Season!

I love making Christmas cards.  I love the bright colours and the season, and I love that these cards might actually get mailed!  For my card today I used a sweet mini set by Unity and paired it with Echo Park papers, and I think it turned out so cute!

Copic Markers: B00, B000, R32, R35, YG63, YG67, W1
Red Gingham ribbon - American Crafts

I made a tent topper card for a change of pace.  The card base is 4 1/4" square, and the circle extends beyond the card to 5 1/2", so it fits in a regular A2 envelope! The image and sentiment are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then coloured the ornaments with Copic Markers.  I added Glossy Accents to the ornaments for a little shine!  Rouge Liquid Pearls were dotted on each of the scallops and I tied red gingham ribbon around the lower portion and fastened a Queen & Co. jumbo brad around the bow.

Are you going to have all your Christmas Cards done in time this year?  I have to get a bit of a move on...I've been slacking, but there is so much cool Christmas product arriving daily at Scrapbooker's Paradise, that I will have no shortage of supplies!  Stock up now before their sold out...Christmas items are one time purchases and when they're gone...they're gone.

That's it for me!  Have a fabulous weekend!

Playing in Paradise Challenge 43

It's time for another Playing in Paradise Challenge, and Kasia's choice is to add some items that might not "officially" be a part of your stash, but are laying around your house!  Anything from tin foil, to paperclips, to tissue paper, to duct tape. Now before we turn this challenge over to you, we have some good news and some sad news.  The sad news is designer extraordinaire Anglie Blom found she needed to free up some time for her family, and sadly that is our loss.  Angie's fabulous creations were inspiring to us all and we wish her all the best in keeping the balance.  Come Play in Paradise with us whenever you can Angie!

Now for the good news!  We are thrilled to announce that Laurel Seabrook will be joining the Challenge team!  Laurel has been a frequent player in our Playing in Paradise challenges and her fun style won us over!  Here's a little bit about Laurel.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas

Good Morning!

I have a Christmas card to share today using the North Country paper collection by Prima.

I used the 6x6 pad for most of the card and then cut the die cut piece from one of the 12x12 sheets of paper from the same collection.

The snowflakes were die cut from a Sizzix Sizzlit and then I coated them in Star Dust Stickles for some glitz.

And the sentiment is from the Amy R. Handy Christmas Greeting Stamp set.

Enjoy your day, thank you for stopping by!

Christmas Gift Project Showcase Monday

Hi all, well it's that time again.......it's another showcase Monday and I have something I made that would make a great gift!!! Love the new Canvas Corp products.....so many great products to use for making those handmade Christmas Gifts!!!! So onto todays post.....................

Products Used

This was sooo much fun to make.....I used the Gesso on the whole stocking, then I stamped the snowflakes with the rock candy and sprinkled on the glitter. Dried it and used the stencil at the top and sprayed it with the denim colorwash. Stamped the snowflakes with versamark and used the white embossing powder on them. Used the espresso colorwash on the ribbon and the alphas, then I used the heirloom gold spray on the alphas to give them some shimmer. Then I added the pearls........it's too bad the shimmer and the glitter doesn't show up well in the pic.......but it does sparkle!!! Well, that's it for this time........until next time....I hope you all have a great week!!!
