Hello all, something a little different today, I am working with a sketch!
We have a sketch book at Scrapbooker's Paradise that is loaded with great ideas, but, there are no pictures of the finished page. A few People have commented that they like to see the end result... so... for today's post I thot I would bring one of the sketches to life. It's the first page of Volume 7 Sketches for Scrapbooking by Debbie Sanders and Allison Davis.
The paper line is the beautiful Moxxie, Winterland
I kept pretty true to the sketch just so you could see ( in color) the end result, but sketches can take on their own life, it's your own interpretation of it to take it to a new level.Random snowflakes are cut out with a punch, but there are many snowflake dies also. I inked the edge with distress ink, and zig zagged diamond stickles across the flake to make it sparkle.
I also outlined the snowman with stickles. He is so cute!
Snow time is a FabScraps chipboard, and you know how I love chipboard. First I coated it with picket fence distress stain. Then I added the white liquid applique. Next I ran stickles over the applique, and covered the snowflakes also. I stuck a gem in the middle and waited for it to dry.
The finished 2 page layout...... easy and fast! I will probably go back and add some flourishes and bling but I wanted to show you the true sketch before that!
Hope you enjoyed today's post, hop over to my blog to see what else I've been up to. And there are a few more days left to leave comments for the blog contest. :-) Have a happy scrappy day!
