Playing in Paradise #98 -Introducing Our New Designer

Hello, Happy New Year to all, Pam here.  Before we start this year's first Challenge, I would like to take this time to introduce our newest very talented designer Dawn.  Get to know her with a bit about her in her own words:

"I am a stay at home mom to a wonderful 3 year old son, a cat and my hubby of ten years, although he is mostly independent.  

I have been crafting in one form or another for as long as I can remember.  I have enjoyed cross stitching, sewing and jewelry making and, while I still like to dabble in these, paper crafting has become my craft of choice.  I began scrapbooking about 7 years ago, but this has since branched out to include card making and 3-D items. I love to learn new techniques and challenge myself to try new things. 

I am inspired by the products I love, my family, daily life and the many talented crafters who also love to share their work in the land of blog. I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to share my projects and ideas on the Playing in Paradise Challenge Team  and I hope you will be inspired to join in the fun with us.  You can see more of my work on my blog, Paper Stamp Scissors."

With the start of a new year and the holidays being just behind us, this week I challenge you to use something new on your creation.  Whether it be something you received as a Christmas gift, a Boxing Day find or something you just had to have before Christmas but the hustle and bustle of the season prevented you from using it, dig it out of its pretty packaging and put it to use! 

For this challenge, I altered a plain wooden frame with a coat of white paint and beautiful BoBunny paper:

For my something new, I tried out some Stampendous Embossing Enamel.  I love the colours, texture and little bit of sparkle it adds.  If you are trying this product out for the first time, you can save yourself a little mess by heating your paper from underneath.  Of course, I would have known that if I had read all of the instructions...
